About Iristel’s CNAM service

Outbound CNAM is also known as outbound CallerID. Records (names) associated with telephone numbers are stored in a database.

When a call is received from that number, a lookup is done to this database to retrieve and display the associated record. Basically, what we do through this service is populate the CNAM database with the info you provide for the DIDs you have with us, so the terminating carrier may be able to dip the calls and retrieve the caller information.

Our CNAM storage product will also support submitting non-Iristel numbers, provided that you know the SPID of the numbers and have an LOA which grants us permission to populate the CNAM database with other carrier’s numbers. Also, updates on the CNAM database can be made on request.
